In this week’s blog we will be covering a simple update that can be done to increase a church’s digital presence, updating the Google business listing.
For those who do not know, the Google business listing is the information that appears at the top of search when searching for a church, organization, or any other business.
Included below is an example of what Googling “Here I Am” looks like and the resulting business listing (highlighted in Yellow).
This business listing is created by Google parsing information from the large troves of data that it has access to. With over 90 billion visits a month, Google is the most popular search engine in the world and collects information from a variety of points across websites and social media sites. It then uses this info to make a listing.
As this is designed for businesses, your church may not show up how you desire. The info can be incomplete or inaccurate, or not represent your church specifically.
The Google listing can be a positive or negative first impression of your church. To help improve how your church is listed on this, we created a step-by-step video detailing how to claim your church as a business and get the listing updated!
